Kyle Angel (He) Angel – Kyle is overjoyed to celebrate and share the art of drag on stage with The Carnegie! You may also recognize him as Crystal Tubes (she/they) – his wonderfully zany and absurd drag persona. Kyle performs as Crystal in local bars/clubs, but also uses drag to give back to the LGBTQIA+ community by working with local organizations such as GLSEN, Transform Cincy, HRC, Visionaries and Voices, and more. Drag is not a crime! Drag is art!
Caroline Bowers (She) Trish/Ensemble – Caroline is a junior Musical Theater major at Otterbein University, from DC and is so excited to be making her Carnegie debut! She is very grateful for the opportunity to be in KINKY BOOTS this summer and is learning so much. Some of her favorite previous roles are; Lucy (BRIGHT STAR), Fantine (LES MIS), Annie (ANNIE), and will be Fraulein Kost in CABARET in Otterbein’s production this fall. Jathan “JB” Briscoe (He) Don/Simon Sr./Ensemble – Jathan “JB” Briscoe is a sophomore at Northern Kentucky University and is Governor’s School for the Arts Alumni (MT 2021). He is so excited to be a part of this amazing production and cast. A few productions he has been a part of are: SHREK THE MUSICAL (Donkey), ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (Tonton), THE LITTLE MERMAID (Prince Eric), and INTO THE WOODS (Wolf). Monique Churchill (She) Lauren – Monique is a rising Sophomore at CCM and is so excited to be making her Carnegie debut in Kinky Boots! Her favorite previous roles are: Baker’s Wife in INTO THE WOODS, Ariel in THE LITTLE MERMAID, and the Sour Kangaroo in SUESSICAL. Anthony J Contreras (He) Angel – KINKY BOOTS is Anthony J Contreras’ first credit at The Carnegie and first show out of college. Anthony graduated from Xavier University with a BA in Musical Theatre. Recent roles include, Nigel Bottom (SOMETHING ROTTEN), Joshua (AMERICAN IDIOT), playing Himself in an original Cabaret performance (FINDING MY WAY) directed by Cincinnati-Native, Pamela Myers, and Paul (THEORY OF RELATIVITY) directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene.
Montez O. Jenkins Copeland (They) Lola/Simon – Montez is stoked to be back in the tristate for the summer and specifically at The Carnegie, their favorite art space. They’ve had the honor to create, teach and play with Playhouse in The Park, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Pones Inc. and The Know Theatre. “I wanna send an abundance of gratitude to the Mulberry Magic Squad, Addy, and my Momma for continued support, love and acceptance.”
Eliza Levy (She) Rachel Bailey/Marge/Stage Manager/Ensemble – Eliza Levy is so excited to be working at The Carnegie again this summer. She is going to be graduating from CCM this upcoming year with her BFA in Musical Theater! Some of her previous roles include Imogene Remus in GEORGE REMUS; a new musical, Beggar Women in SWEENEY TODD, and choreographed CCM’s THE WILD PARTY and played Max/Queenie & Kate u/s! Andres Martinez (He) George/Ensemble – Andres Martinez is so excited to be making his debut at The Carnegie! He is from Houston, Texas and a rising musical theatre major at Wright State University. Tomi Newman (Any) Charlie Price – KINKY BOOTS is Tomi’s debut at The Carnegie! Tomi is a Musical Theatre BFA Candidate at The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM ’25). Passionate about car music, vegan donuts, and Ratatouille (2007 film). Previous roles include Ensemble in RAGTIME: IN CONCERT (Cincinnati Pops), Swing in SPRING AWAKENING (CCM), Swing in R&H CINDERELLA (CCM), and Ensemble/Busboy in SHE LOVES ME (CCM). Trans rights are human rights!
Anderson Rothwell (He) Angel – Anderson was born and raised in the Atlanta area, and he is proud to make his Carnegie debut in KINKY BOOTS. He is a rising senior at Wright State University where he is pursuing a BFA musical theatre. You can also catch him performing around Ohio as his drag persona, Bea Effay. Sujaya Sunkara (She) Nicola/Ensemble – Sujaya Sunkara is a recent alum of the BFA Music Theatre program at Elon University. Most notable credits include The Baker’s Wife (INTO THE WOODS), Gabrielle (R&H’s CINDERELLA), and Rosemary (HOW TO SUCCEED…). Much thanks to her friends and family for always being in her corner. Kyle Taylor (He/They) Harry/Ensemble – When Kyle isn’t on stage performing, they can be found in classrooms across Covington as The Carnegie’s Education Associate. Previously on the Carnegie stage, they’ve played: F. Scott Fitzgerald in GEORGE REMUS: A NEW MUSICAL, Quasimodo in THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME and many more. Kyle would like to thank the cast and team for their amazing talent and dedication. And a special thank you to their partner Kelsi for her unwavering support and love. Regan Utrup (She) Pat/Ensemble/Understudy for Lauren – Regan is ecstatic to make her Carnegie debut in KINKY BOOTS! Some recent favorite roles of hers include Emma Borden in LIZZIE THE MUSICAL, Izzy in RABBIT HOLE, and Macduff in THE SCOTTISH PLAY all at Xavier University! Dylan Van Camp (He/They) Mr. Price/Ensemble/Understudy for Charlie – Dylan is ecstatic to be making his Carnegie debut with such an iconic show! Dylan has a BA in theatre from Xavier University where he also studied education. Some of his favorite roles he’s done include J.D. in HEATHERS THE MUSICAL and Mary Sunshine in CHICAGO. He wants to thank his family, friends, and educators for helping him get to where he is today!
Zach Van Camp (He) Angel – Zach is so excited to be making his Carnegie debut and could not be more impressed with the amazing cast and crew of this show. Zach studied Opera and Musical Theater at Baldwin Wallace and Northern Kentucky University. Some of Zach’s favorite roles include Tony in WEST SIDE STORY and Sir Harry in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. He would like to thank his family, friends, and colleagues for all of the love and support.
Lindsey Augusta Mercer (They) Director – Lindsey is a multi-hyphenate theater artist passionate about queer, interdisciplinary, and reimagined works. Lindsey is thrilled to be directing again at The Carnegie for the first time since their actor-musician production of THE LAST FIVE YEARS in 2016. As a director, actor, musician, composer, and professional goober, some of their favorite credits include; Directing: HEAD OVER HEELS, SAINT JOAN, GIRLFRIEND, LIZARD BOY; Performing: The Bengson’s HUNDRED DAYS (La Jolla Playhouse/US Tour, Know Theatre), DARKEST NIGHT AT GNARLY STUMP, THE SEAGULL, and [TITLE OF SHOW]. Lindsey is a proud member of AEA & SDCF and is currently writing the book, music, and lyrics for a new musical adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway. Steve Goers, (He), Music Director
Steve is a Chicago native who relocated to Cincinnati in 2004. He is a member of the CCM musical theatre faculty, where he both teaches in the classroom and serves as musical director for department productions. Steve is an in-demand regional music director and has provided music direction for over 100 productions at companies such as Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, and the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. Steve is a composer and orchestrator for film and stage. His works include seven feature films, including the award-winning “Over-the-Rhine,” and thirteen internationally distributed musicals for young audiences. Steve’s session work includes the Grammy-nominated “Ella Jenkins and a Union Friends Pulling Together.” When not working on a show, Steve plays keyboards and sings in several local bands, including the Clyde Brown Band, Aja: a Tribute to Steely Dan, the Ultrasonics, and Just Strange Brothers. Tyler Gabbard, (He) Producer, Scenic Designer
Tyler is the Producing Director of Theatre at The Carnegie, dubbed “Favorite Local Theatre” in 2023 by the BroadwayWorld Cincinnati Awards. Previously, he was the Patron Experience Manager for The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, the Patron Communications Manager for the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, the Events and Publicity Manager for the School of the Arts at Northern Kentucky University, and Vice President of the League of Cincinnati Theaters. Tyler has worked as a designer for theatres in New York City and Los Angeles and over a dozen venues in Kentucky and Ohio, including 15 shows at The Carnegie. Tyler received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Northern Kentucky University. In January 2020 he was one of 27 individuals selected from across North America to participate in the Emerging Leadership Institute of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals. He won the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s 2023 Next Generation Leader Award in Arts, Entertainment, and Hospitality. He was featured in Movers & Makers 2023 list of Notables in Performing Arts. Tyler lives in Bellevue with his husband Jack and their dog Popsicle.
Alaina Pizzoferrato (She) Lighting Designer – Alaina is from Lemont Illinois, and received her MFA in Lighting Design and Technology at University of Cincinnati (CCM), and her BFA in Theatre Design and Production at Millikin University. Recent work includes assistant lighting design for A CHORUS LINE and SHANE at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and THE 39 STEPS at Drury Lane Theatre, IL. Recent lighting design work includes SPRING DANCE: SWAN LAKE, DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES, CINCINNATI DIONYSIA, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, XANADU, and THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA at CCM. Other design work includes RENT at the Carnegie Theatre. Kayne O’Brien aka Kora Sline (He/She) Wig and Makeup Designer, Drag Consultant – Kayne OBrien also know as Kora Sline gives you everything from camp looks to 80’s Rock Star realness. With a heart of gold, you’ll fall in love with her energy and creative touch. A former cast member of The Cabaret in Cincinnati, and currently on cast at Bloom OTR you can find this entertainer all over the tri-state area. Kora has been a professional wig stylist for the past 3 years styling for herself as well as multiple drag entertainers across the country. Catch Kora performing with Hard Candy productions, as well as, Le Moo Drag Brunch in Louisville monthly. With over 25 years of experience in the performance arts from theatre, dance, color guard and vocal performance, this performer is the total package!
Carissa Gandenberger (She) Production Stage Manager – Carissa is always thrilled to spend the summer with The Carnegie. Elsewhere she is the Production Stage Manager for Cincinnati Ballet and Stage Management Mentor for St. Xavier High School. Previous Carnegie Theater credits include RENT, INTO THE WOODS, GEORGE REMUS, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, GREEN DAY’S AMERICAN IDIOT!, DREAMGIRLS, THE FULL MONTY, TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL, ROCK OF AGES, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, COMPANY, THE UNDERPANTS, and WEST SIDE STORY. Michael Hamburg (He) Assistant Stage Manager – Michael is so happy to be back at The Carnegie ASMing KINKY BOOTS. Last summer, he ASMed INTO THE WOODS, RENT, and GEORGE REMUS: A NEW MUSICAL. He has most recently SMed NEWSIES with Theatre Xavier and PLAYLIST at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He will be attending the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music to continue his studies. Doug Stock (He), Technical Director
Doug is in his fifth season at The Carnegie, where he has designed sets for LITTLE SHOP…, JOSEPH…, PROOF, AMERICAN IDIOT, DREAMGIRLS, and THE FULL MONTY in addition to overseeing tech for hundreds of concerts and rental events. Previously, he was Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s Assistant Technical Director and Master Carpenter. He was also the Technical Director and Scenic & Lighting Designer at Thomas Worthington High School, his Alma Mater. Graduate of UC-CCM.
Erin Donnelly (She) Costume Designer – Erin is a Grad student at the University of Cincinnati intending to complete her masters in 2023. She has contributed to a variety of shows, the most recent being the CINCINNATI DIONYSIA.
Diane Senffner (She) Dialect Coach – Diane Senffner has been coaching dialects all over the U.S and U.K. since 2004. This her second adventure coaching Kinky Boots, having coached the professional production at Phoenix Theatre in 2018. She is grateful to The Carnegie for letting her coach this joyful show!
Avery Reynolds (He) Sound Designer – Avery has worked with The Carnegie for several seasons, ranging from the subtle TENDERLY: A ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL, to the boisterous AMERICAN IDIOT, and from the whimsical INTO THE WOODS and DISENCHANTED to the dramatic RENT and GEORGE REMUS. He has been delighted with the talented actors and crews he has worked with over the years to create memorable performances. Avery has a B.S. in Communications from Scripps College at Ohio University.
Codi Rasor (They) Wardrobe Manager – Codi is a student at Northern Kentucky University in their BFA Costume Design/Technology program. They have worked on multiple shows at NKU including MACBETH, in which they were the head Costume Designer, and The Henry’s: THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE, which they worked as an Assistant Stage Manager.
